Virginia Clean Energy Innovation Bank Announces Funding for Hydrogen Hub and Carbon Storage Projects

On December 3, 2024, the Virginia Clean Energy Innovation Bank, powered by the Virginia Department of Energy, announced two new funding opportunities totaling $1.5 million to support the development of a hydrogen hub and carbon storage projects in Southwest Virginia. $1 million in funding is available for programs supporting blue and green hydrogen production with a focus on repurposing previously mined lands and energy-ready industrial sites. Up to $500,000 in funding is also available for carbon storage feasibility studies related to underground gas zones. Program applications are due January 31, 2025. More information can be found here.
