The Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC), in partnership with the National Association of State Energy Officials (NASEO) and the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), will host an in-person kickoff workshop for Tennessee’s freight electrification planning efforts on Thursday, January 23, 2025 in Nashville.
As Drive Electric TN works to refresh its Tennessee Roadmap for Electric Vehicles, the initiative plans to include new goals and projects related to medium- and heavy-duty vehicle electrification. Understanding that the stakeholders for freight electrification are distinct from school and transit bus stakeholders, this kickoff will focus exclusively on the freight sector. The event is open to anyone who has or plans to support freight electrification in the state, including fleets, shippers, truck OEMs, trucking associations, charging providers, electric utilities, other state agencies, local governments, higher education, and nonprofits.
The workshop will be designed to hear directly from key stakeholders to better understand existing efforts and challenges within the state. Breakfast and lunch will be provided. An optional networking reception will be held from 4:00 - 6:00 pm directly following the workshop. More details to come.
There is no registration fee for this event. However, if you plan to attend, you must register online no later than Wednesday, January 15, 2025. Seating is limited, so those interested are encouraged to register as soon as possible to guarantee their spot. Please note that the venue requires foreign nationals who plan to participate in the event to submit additional paperwork in advance, so non-US citizens must register no later than Monday, January 6, 2025.
