On December 5, 2012, the U.S. Energy information Administration (EIA) issued its Annual Energy Outlook 2013 Reference case, which highlights a growth in total U.S. energy production that exceeds growth in total U.S. energy consumption through 2040. This release is an abridged version of the Annual Energy Outlook that highlights changes in the Reference case projections for key energy topics.
