Public-Private Alternative Fuels Transportation Financing Group Convened

In partnership with NASEO, the Center for Climate and Energy Solutions (C2ES) convened a group of public and private sector stakeholders in New York City on June 27, 2013, to discuss barriers to private sector financing of alternative fuel vehicles and infrastructure.  Barriers considered by the group ranged from issues of scale to information deficiencies and legal and regulatory hurdles.  This stakeholder group will serve in an advisory capacity to the work that NASEO and C2ES will be conducting under an agreement with the U.S. Department of Energy’s Clean Cities program.  Over the course of the two year project, business models and implementation plans for pilot projects will be developed to overcome the barriers raised by this advisory committee.  The meeting was hosted by the Rockefeller Brothers Fund and sponsored by General Motors.  For more information about the project, please contact NASEO Program Manager, Julia Friedman (jfriedman@naseo.org).
