U.S. House and Senate Support SEP and WAP Appropriations

U.S. House and Senate Support SEP and WAP Appropriations – SEP and WAP at last year's funding levels of $50 million and $225 million in the House, and $50 million and $215 million in the Senate.

On June 12, 2017, the U.S. House Appropriations Committee provided their FY’18 appropriations “marks” for the U.S. Department of Energy among other agencies. The committee maintained SEP and WAP at last year's funding levels of $50 million and $225 million respectively, with $3 million for WAP-related technical assistance. The U.S. Senate took similar action, with the Committee on Appropriations approving the FY'18 Energy and Water Development Appropriations Bill, which among other things, includes $50 million for SEP and $215 million for WAP.  The Senate bill report language can be accessed here, and the Senate bill can be accessed here.  Taken together, the House and Senate actions are a very positive sign regarding bipartisan support for both state programs.
