On Monday, June 10, 2013, the Senate passed the 2013 Farm Bill, “Agriculture Reform, Food, and Jobs Act of 2013” (S. 954), by a vote of 66 to 27. The 2013 legislation’s Energy title aims to reduce the nation’s dependence on foreign oil and create jobs in rural America by promoting the development of advanced biofuels and renewable energy. The full House is expected to take up its version of a farm bill next week.
