Texas Renewable Energy Generation up in 2012

The Electric Reliability Council of Texas released figures showing a 7% increase in renewable energy generation to 33.9 million megawatt hours (MWh) in 2012 from 31.7 million MWh in 2011. Solar energy showed the most growth, up 265% from 2011. Total solar energy generation in 2012 was nearly 134,000 MWh. Wind energy still dominates Texas’s renewable energy landscape, accounting for more than 32.5 million MWh in 2012.
