NASEO Kicks Off 2013 Regional Meetings

On April 29 and 30, NASEO hosted the Southeast Regional State Energy Office Meeting in Knoxville, Tennessee.  Hosted by the Tennessee State Energy Office and co-hosted by Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) and the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), the discussion-oriented meeting covered technology transfer and deployment opportunities in the region, state energy planning activities, utility perspectives on supply and demand side management, and other state priorities.  NASEO Executive Director, David Terry, and NASEO Southeast Regional Coordinator, Brian Henderson, provided updates on key multistate initiatives including building energy code compliance, energy assurance, and State Energy Program operational issues, and a NASEO Board action update.

On May 7 and 8, NASEO convened the Midwest states in Ann Arbor, Michigan, at the University of Michigan's Phoenix Laboratory.  The meeting served as a forum for the states to share their program efforts in energy assurance and comprehensive energy planning, advanced manufacturing, financing, and transportation.  The group toured the Michigan Heat Recovery Project at the Industrial Energy Center.  Mr. Terry and Jeff Pillon, NASEO Midwest Regional Coordinator, provided updates on key NASEO initiatives and Board actions.

State Energy Offices in the Northeast region meet on May 30 in Boston, Massachusetts; in the Central/Northwest/Southwest on June 4 and 5 in Golden, Colorado; and in the Mid-Atlantic on June 24 and 25, in Hershey, Pennsylvania.
