The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced that forty-three states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico submitted Notice of Intent letters to apply for the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund Solar for All competition. State Energy Offices are uniquely positioned to support the successful implementation of Solar for All in their communities and will serve as the lead applicant for the majority of states that intend to apply. The $7 billion Solar for All grant competition will fund new and existing Solar for All programs that help expand access to the benefits of residential rooftop solar and residential-serving community solar for low-income and disadvantaged communities. EPA plans to award up to 60 grants to states, territories, Tribal governments, municipalities, and nonprofits. Full applications for all eligible applicants will be due September 26, 2023. More information about the Solar for All competition and application requirements can be found here and on EPA's FAQ page.
